Tango Caliente: The Leader – Follower Dance

Achieving results by collaborating in the workplace is no small undertaking.  And yet, that IS the dance of leaders and followers.   There are three basic steps to this dance: Engaging, Exchanging and Exiting.  It’s essential for leaders to engage employees in the most fitting manner for a particular interaction, exchange vital information by asking relevant questions, listening and giving clear responses, and exiting a conversation on the right note – which usually includes some form of agreement.

And, since it takes two to tango, employees must choose to signal their engagement in the workplace by showing up on time, having a good attitude, being productive, communicating effectively with their boss and co-workers and making the most of their employment.

This “dance” has existed for thousands of years.  May the music  never stop!
